Walk a Mile in Her Shoes

Walk a Mile in Her Shoes

I was honored to  be a part of something so amazing. “Walk a Mile in Her Shoes” was Saturday September 17th. It is a walk to help raise money and awareness of Sexual and Domestic Violence. This topic is very dear to my heart!!! I lost my mother only 3.5 short months ago due to domestic violence. The amount of people that showed their support by showing up and walking a mile in high heels was amazing!! There men of all ages.. please check out their website at www.walkamileswla.org. Here are a few images from this amazing day!

My life has been forever changed

My life has been forever changed

In the last year, i have experienced love, joy, fear and sadness like never before!

In the beginning of this year we decided to sell our home and move a little further south to our home town. We put our home, of the past 10 years, on the market and moved in to a camper in hopes of selling it quickly……3.5 months later there was a bid finally put on our house.

In the mean time while experiencing great emotional stress of moving and living in a tiny camper, i lost my mother very tragically.

June 5th her estranged husband  broke in to my sister’s house, where my mother was living at the time, and shot her twice in the chest………

Believe me, as hard as it was for you to read that…. it was a million times harder to write it.

I recently read a book called, Choosing to SEE, by Mary Chapman. She lost her daughter in a tragic accident that her older son was involved in. Something i could never imagine myself going through.

That book has given me great strength and helped me to remember that God is ALWAYS NEAR!  No matter how far i try to run. It was not God’s plan on how my mother died, but where sin abounds GRACE MUCH MORE ABIDES!!!

It has been 2.5 months since my mom passed and i battle every day with missing her and questions to God.

But through prayers of an entire community and from all over the country our family has felt grace and peace like never before!

So thank you for every thing you guys are doing for us!

Well i have to cut this post short. School is back in session and we have tons to do this weekend!

But please come back at least once a week to see more post! I am officially back in full swing with photography! So be ready for lots and lots of pictures. Im going to leave you with a picture of my mom!
